Project: Cohomology of SL2 over the Hamiltonians (DC11)

Supervisor: Haluk Sengün

Location: University of Sheffield, United Kingdom

My name is Hao Zhang. I completed my undergraduate studies at Hunan University in China, where, under the supervision of Jun Li, I worked on cohomology theory on manifolds. I then pursued a master's degree at Université Paris-Saclay. My master’s thesis, supervised by Daniel Disegni and Matteo Tamiozzo, focused on Euler systems of Heegner points and their connections to the Birch–Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture.

I am broadly interested in number theory and arithmetic geometry, particularly in aspects of the Langlands program. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Sheffield under the supervision of Haluk Sengun. My doctoral studies are part of the COGENT doctoral training network, funded by MSCA. My research focuses on the cohomology of arithmetic groups, exploring the connections between automorphic forms and geometry.

Outside mathematics, I play the Irish tin whistle and enjoy playing basketball and hiking.
